We're home from Balticon, and while I generally hesitate to call something inspirational, I think that's what this weekend has been.
Just a few things-
-Our story, "The Balance of Silence", is actually being published by Samhain in the short novel category. Thus, I have indeed sold my first novel. It wasn't before I hit 30, but you know, I'm not 31 yet, so I'm calling it a win! It should be released in September. If I fall off the face of the earth in the meantime, someone sacrifice something to editing deities for me.

tammy_g, pezazul, greenmtnboy18, drinteot, and andpuff, which was, as always, fabulous. Especially thankful that Tammy and Kevin got to stay here for a couple days before the con, and Alex and Deb stayed here during! debmats, you were missed, and spoken of in the fondest tones.
-I started knitting a baby hat for a friend I used to work with, since she said baby hats are the cutest thing since babies. I need to finish a certain knitted monster, and the sweater for my sister, and for that matter, the sweater for ME!
-We met a bunch of cool podcasters, authors, and artists, and are planning a couple cons as participants later in the year. Capclave and possibly Ravencon.
And now, I'm going to go wash the con-crud off, and disappear into my edits for the next week. I hope you all had a great weekend, too!
